Time for a rest

“I still need more healthy rest in order to work at my best. My health is the main capital I have, and I want to administer it intelligently.” –Ernest Hemingway

I have medial epicondylitis on both elbows and only rest can heal me. I thought I could push through and keep writing, but it’s not a good idea right now. Sitting at the computer, typing, is making things worse, so I’m taking a break. I don’t know how long I’ll be away before I get back to writing, but probably at least a few weeks or more.

Gabriel and I on graduation day

On a personal note, the lymph nodes are shrinking (supposedly a very rare illness called Kikuchi disease). My youngest son Gabriel just graduated from high school and will be heading off to Hope College in August. Gabriel will be pursuing a degree in Environmental Engineering and rooming with his older brother, Leonardo, who has one year to go before he graduates with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. I’m so proud of both of them.

Now that I’ll soon be an empty-nester, at least when school is in session, I should have more free time to figure out when and where I want to create a homestead. In this newfound time, I’ll be doing a lot of reading and thinking. Going back to the land should be fun, doing what my great grandparents did. I’m thinking chickens, a lamb, a green house and big garden to start. Gonna figure it all out soon. Yay!

Thank you for subscribing to my posts. Hopefully it won’t be too long before my elbows heal.
